About Me

Hi, I’m Lainey, and Life in Motion is my way of making sense of a life that doesn’t always follow the script.

I’m a  21 year old dance teacher and a Registered Behavior Technician living in Saint Augustine, Florida. I moved 800 miles from home to start something new, and along the way, I’ve been learning a lot about independence, identity, and what it means to build a life that actually fits me.

This blog is where I write about the mix of things that make up my world:

  • Teaching and choreographing
  • Working in behavior therapy
  • Navigating queer identity and community
  • Choosing an unconventional path (including dropping out of college)
  • Living alone, learning as I go, and trying not to overthink every decision
